Swamp Wallaby is endemic to Australia. It occurs in the eastern part of the continent. The numbers increase, and currently there are no major threats known to affect the species.

■ Within EAZA, captive population data are recorded in European Studbook since 1999. Currently the studbook is kept by Aquazoo Friesland, Leeuwarden.
