Volunteer Service
For several years now, Latvia has the Volunteer Service Law, which aims to promote public participation in the volunteer service. And we at Rīga Zoo also invite everyone, who complies with the Volunteer Service Law, to apply for work for the benefit of society.
During the last season we employed up to 10 volunteers; and are grateful to enterprises that chose to do something for Rīga Zoo, for example, clean up the territory in exchange for the possibility to enjoy the unique charm of Mežaparks, Ķīšezers, greetings from peacocks, as well as satisfaction and the feeling that one is doing something meaningful.
Volunteer service is performed under the supervision of an experienced employee of Rīga ZOO based on a previously concluded contract indicating the period and frequency of cooperation, and the nature of work entrusted to the volunteer.
Our volunteers have guaranteed accident insurance from the first day of their service.
Where will you work?
- In the animal units;
- Assistance during events on weekends;
- Participation in activities of a larger scale, for example, Winter Nights, Days of Birds.
