About the tour
The excursion “Animals in Latvian Nature and Culture” is part of the cultural education programme “Latvian School Bag”. The tour route and the conversation are guided through the prism of animals depicted in the coats of arms of Latvian cities, involving students in research activities and activities.
During the excursion, participants observe animals and learn about their way of life in the wild. They compare the animal’s adaptations with the behaviour described in stories and legends. They discuss and find reasoning for the choice of animal in the coats of arms of the towns of the Latvian regions, discover the regularities in the field of culture and animal protection.
