Crested Newt is widely distributed in Europe, except the most northern and southern parts. In parts of its range the Crested Newt is declining or rare, and the population is decreasing. Loss and fragmentation of suitable habitat as well as introduction of predatory fish are the main threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
