Edwards\u2019s Pheasant is an endemic species of Vietnam. The population is decreasing. The major threats are habitat destruction and poaching. The species’ historical range was largely affected by the fumigation with herbicides (defoliants) during the Vietnam War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conservation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25a0 Listed as Critically Endangered<\/strong> (CR) in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
\u25a0 Captive population data are recorded in International Studbook<\/strong>, it is kept by Berlin Zoo.
\u25a0 The species is managed under the EEP <\/strong>(EAZA Ex-situ Programme), it is coordinated by Prague Zoo.
\u25a0 Listed in Appendix I of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES<\/strong>, or Washington Convention).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
