Sugar Glider is widespread and occurs in Australia and the islands of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The population is stable. There are no major threats affecting the species overall, but in parts of its range habitat loss due to conversion to agricultural lands occurs, and the species can also suffer from bushfires.
