Spined Loach
Spined Loach is a freshwater species, distributed in Europe and Asia. The current population trend is not known. The species is widespread, and there are no known major threats.
Countries of occurrence are Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine and United Kingdom.
Conservation
■ Listed in Appendix III of the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats as a protected fauna species.
■ Listed in Annex II of EU Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the Conservation of natural habitats of wild fauna and flora (the Habitats Directive).
