Slender-tailed Cloud Rat is endemic to the Philippines, it occurs in northern and central parts of Luzon island. The population is currently stable. The main threat is hunting for food.

■ Within EAZA, Slender-tailed Cloud Rat captive population data are recorded in European Studbook since 2010. The studbook is kept by Prague Zoo.
