Poitou Donkey
Poitou Donkey is a domestic breed that is thought to originate in the Poitou Region of France in early 18th century. It is thought that both the donkey and the practice of mule breeding were introduced to the area by the Romans. The Poitou Donkey is one of the largest donkey breeds. It has an impressive long haired coat, called a cadanette.
