Mandarin Duck occurs in Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Eastern Asian Russia). The numbers are currently decreasing. There are no major threats affecting the species.

Mandarin Duck was introduced in Europe (mainly United Kingdom).


■ Listed in Appendix III of the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats as a protected fauna species.
